 MANAGING PEOPLE

I: Model Placement Talk

-         Live discussions in the classroom

-         Step 1: Pre-placement presentation by the company people including Job description

-         Step 2: Scrutiny process

-         Step 3: Personal Interview

-         Step 4: Offer letter

-         Step 5: Final Selection

-         Step 6: Signing a final agreement  

-         Roles have to be assigned in the group with the help of faculty.

-         Registration on the basis of first come first serve basis. (Not more than 5 groups)

II: Article Analysis

-         Collect the articles from Newspapers / Magazines

-         The articles should be from the area of HRM

-         Cut and then Paste the article in a file

-         Analyse the article with the HRM context

-         At the end do write GLOSSARY of all the article

-         Each group should have 10 articles                              

III: Mock Parliament

-         Live discussions in the classroom

-         Its Question Hour session

-         Topic will be given after completing registration process

-         Registered students will be divided in two categories – Favour / Against

-         The discussions should be directed towards a point of view of employee, employer and government

-         Registration on the basis of first come first serve basis. (3 groups only)

IV: Job Roles Research

-         Identify a particular job in an entity. Preferably you must be able to have access to the individual doing this job. Now research the job incumbent’s roles and responsibilities. Submit an assignment covering:

o   What methods could be adopted to best understand this job?

o   Write the job description for the role.

o   Discuss and research the web/literature to draw up a set of atleast 8 competencies required to do this job?

o   In your opinion what can be the jobs that this incumbent can aspire to climb up.

Submission of Report:

-         Cover page: University name, Subject name, Academic Year, Title of the Assignment , Group Number (For. Eg. Group 1 to 10)

-         2^nd Page: Submitted by names of Group members and roll numbers, submitted to faculty names

-         3^rd page: Index, table of contents

-         Guide lines for the report:

o   Headings : Any font text; Font size 14 to 16

o   Content: Font text - Calibri, Times New Roman, Arial ; Font Size: 12

o   Alignment : Justified

-         Submission must consist of both report and presentation in hard copy format.
